tecnet equity invests in RNAnalytics via SAFE

Tulln, October 7, 2026 – Through a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity), tecnet equity has invested in the Lower Austrian tech-bio startup RNAnalytics. Founded by Viktoria Enkmann and Hannes-Oliver Burgstaller, the company is based at the accent Makerspace in Tulln, where it develops solutions for analyzing lipid nanoparticles—tiny transport vesicles designed to safely deliver active ingredients such as RNA into human cells. With this investment, RNAnalytics is advancing the further development of its modular analysis toolkits and the expansion of its integrated software platform.

Complex analyses are slowing down the development of new RNA therapies

RNA-based drugs have become significantly more important thanks to new vaccines and therapeutic approaches. For RNA to reach the exact location in the body where it is supposed to take effect, it needs a protective transport shell. So-called lipid nanoparticles, or LNPs for short, are often used for this purpose. Whether these tiny particles function properly must be repeatedly verified during the development of a drug. It is crucial to understand the particles’ properties in detail—from their size and stability to the actual amount of RNA they encapsulate and their behavior in different cells. Today, these analyses are often time-consuming, sometimes require expensive specialized equipment, and, due to a lack of standardized methods, yield results that are only partially comparable. This takes time and makes it particularly difficult for smaller biotech companies and research laboratories to access a technology that is becoming increasingly important for the development of new RNA therapies.

Standardized Toolkits Instead of Complex Individual Procedures

RNAnalytics has set itself the goal of making these analyses significantly simpler and more standardized. To this end, the company is developing modular toolkits that can be used with existing laboratory equipment. They combine validated measurement methods, reagents, and reference materials, thereby providing laboratories with a clearly defined workflow for analyzing lipid nanoparticles.

“The SAFE financing gives us the opportunity at this early stage to consistently further develop our toolkits while simultaneously advancing the expansion of our software platform. With tecnet equity, we have a partner at our side who understands the challenges faced by technology-intensive startups,” explains Viktoria Enkmann, founder and CEO of RNAnalytics.

From Analysis Toolkit to Software Platform

However, RNAnalytics’ approach goes beyond individual laboratory tests. In parallel with the toolkits, the company is developing a software platform that consolidates and automatically evaluates the data generated during the analyses. This provides a comprehensive picture of the relevant quality characteristics of an RNA therapeutic. Instead of evaluating measurement results from different devices and tests individually, laboratories can process their data centrally, compare various quality parameters with one another, and generate standardized reports. The combination of physical toolkits and software is thus intended to transform a previously highly fragmented analysis process into a seamless workflow.

“RNAnalytics addresses a very specific problem in a technologically sophisticated and rapidly growing sector of biotechnology. We are particularly impressed by the company’s approach of making complex laboratory analytics more accessible through standardized toolkits while simultaneously integrating them into a scalable software platform. The two founders combine in-depth scientific expertise with a clear understanding of the challenges in LNP analytics and a compelling product vision. This combination was a key factor in our decision to invest at this early stage,” says Dr. Christian Laurer, Senior Investment Manager at tecnet equity.

With the new capital, RNAnalytics plans to further develop its existing analytical methods, bring additional toolkits to market, and, in particular, drive the expansion of its software platform.

About RNAnalytics

RAR-RNAAnalytics Advanced Research GmbH was founded in 2023 by Viktoria Enkmann and Hannes-Oliver Burgstaller. Based at the accent Makerspace in Tulln, this tech-bio company develops modular analysis toolkits and a software platform for characterizing lipid nanoparticles, which are used, among other things, in RNA-based drugs. The goal is to standardize complex laboratory analyses, make better use of existing laboratory equipment, and automatically evaluate analysis results. This is intended to enable research laboratories, as well as biotech and pharmaceutical companies, to study lipid nanoparticles more easily, with greater reproducibility, and more efficiently.
