Innovation Award 2025/26

The Innovation Award at ecoplus Technopol Wiener Neustadt puts marketable research and innovation-driven projects in the spotlight. The award is organized by tecnet, accent Inkubator GmbH, ecoplus. Niederösterreichs Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH, and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, and helps identify promising high-tech startups.

A panel of experts recently honored outstanding projects in four categories. The topics of the award-winning innovations range from the upcycling of aluminum waste to space and aviation technologies, as well as social applications.

In the “Innovative Technical Solutions” category, the project “Eco-Tribology for Air and Space: The Green MXenes Revolution” was honored. The prize, worth €1,500, was presented by Sophie Egger. 🏆

Marko Piljevic’s project (AC2T research GmbH) addresses key challenges in the aerospace industry: mechanical systems must function reliably under extreme environmental conditions (temperature, pressure, vibrations, etc.). This requires solid lubricants. MXene materials are considered promising next-generation lubricants with significant growth and market potential.
